Located in the heart of Istanbul, the Basilica Cistern was built in the 6th century by Byzantine Emperor Justinian I. Throughout history, it has been one of the most important structures supplying water to the city. In 1986–1987, this unique monument was restored by Pekerler İnşaat, regaining its present-day magnificence. With its expertise in preserving historical heritage, Pekerler breathed new life into this iconic landmark of Istanbul.
